Hi, I'm Karen, the proud owner of The Sassy Mermaid! My love for the water runs deep – whether it’s swimming, scuba diving, or snorkeling, I’ve always felt at home in the water!

When my late husband became involved with a local dive center, eventually purchasing it, I was beyond excited. Now, after many years in the scuba industry, I’m now the sole owner of my very own dive center.

In addition to diving, I’ve always had a creative side – I love crafting, making things, and sharing my creations. What started as crafting gifts for loved ones soon turned into something more. Encouraged by friends and fellow crafters, I decided to combine my passions into a business, selling my handmade items at my dive shop. Since so many of my creations are water, diving, and mermaid-themed, it was a perfect fit!

Today, The Sassy Mermaid offers a variety of products for divers, snorkelers, and mermaid enthusiasts. From custom mask straps and scuba tank decals to mugs, tumblers, and even clothing, there’s something for everyone who shares my love for the water. I’ve also had the pleasure of working with other small businesses to create custom products like waterproof stickers, mask straps, and apparel.
